About Us
We are a Pensacola-based landscape design firm that specializes in using Florida native plants in residential and commercial projects. We are a women owned and operated small business, established in July 2022. Our team members are selected for their diverse ecological backgrounds and shared passion of creating naturalistic landscapes. We focus on providing the highest quality at each step of our progress, and treat each project with the utmost care and attention to detail. We are committed to doing things differently by creating landscapes that are beautiful, ecologically beneficial, and resilient.
Our designs are centered around sustainability including the reduction and omission of harmful chemicals, conserving water, and selecting plants based on existing site conditions to omit excessive soil amendments and fertilizers. Our landscapes are designed to require less maintenance after they fully establish to save our client’s time and money.
By using native plants, our landscapes support the local ecosystem and promote biodiversity. Our landscapes offer a refuge for native wildlife including bees, butterflies, birds, and many other species. Traditional landscapes that do not incorporate native plants do not offer food, shelter, or nesting areas for our wildlife that continue to face declining population numbers. We focus on designing and creating landscapes that will support the true natural beauty of Florida for future generations to enjoy.
We partner with Native Plant Company based in Milton, Florida where we source 80-90% of the plant materials used in our designs. Native Plant Company offers highly specialized expertise in growing plants native to North Florida and ethical growing practices. By partnering with Native Plant Company, our landscapes support the local economy and growers. When appropriate, we outsource plant materials from wholesalers to pass on the best possible price to our clients.
We offer custom landscape design, plant sourcing and transportation, site preparation, plant installation, temporary irrigation, and maintenance services. For more information about our services offered, please see Our Process and Services and Pricing pages.
Resource Efficient
Native plants require less supplemental water compared to non-native alternatives. Many native plants are drought resistant and will not require supplemental irrigation after their establishment.
Hardy
Native plants will grow in poor, sandy soil and do not need expensive soil additives.
Cost Effective
Native plants do not require additional fertilizers after establishment. This saves on costs and reduces the amount of pollution caused by fertilizer runoff into our local waterways.
Most importantly, native plants support our local food web. Many of our local insects are host plant specialized, meaning they can only eat and reproduce on certain plant species that they have adapted alongside. By using native plants, our landscapes offer food, shelter, and nesting areas that support pollinators and the entire ecological food chain.
Our gardens incorporate local genetics and utilize native cultivars when necessary for aesthetic or functional purposes. We are open to discussing the use of Florida friendly, non-native, species on a case by case basis, and will offer native alternatives for aggressive or invasive species.
